ABOUT EMAS
EMAS was founded in 1986 by service providers in contract cleaning, pest control and waste management industries.
Our mission is to provide a cohesive platform for companies in the environment industry to address the common challenges and to identify ways of continuously advancing the industry forward.
EMAS is represented in the Tripartite Cleaning Cluster chaired by NTUC, Tripartite Committee For Low Wage Workers and Inclusive Growth chaired by Ministry of Manpower (MOM) , Public Hygiene Council, Workplace Safety and Health Council chaired by MOM and Cleaning Sectoral Tripartite Committee chaired by National Environment Agency.
Our association has been actively promoting Licensing and Accreditation of the cleaning industry since the regulation came into effect in 2014. We are also supportive of the Progressive Wage Model scheme aimed at improving the livelihood of our employees.
EMAS will continue to be the conduit for industry players to engage the government, service buyers and the union. We will constantly strive to uplift the industry’s professionalism by organizing seminars, overseas mission trips, events to provide knowledge and technical expertise as well as networking sessions for our valued members.
We work closely with the following Government Agencies and partners; National Environment Agency (NEA), Ministry of Health (MOH), Workforce Singapore (WSG), Enterprise Singapore (ESG), Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC), Building Construction and Timber Industries Employees’ Union (BATU), National Trades Union Congress (UCC).
